Position Available: Part Time Coordinator of Communications and Member Services

The Dupont Circle Citizens Association (DCCA) seeks an energetic individual to serve as part-time contractual Coordinator for Communications and Member Services. DCCA, founded in 1922, is one of the oldest, best known civic organizations in DC.  DCCA is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization which strives to create a sense of community, ensure the continued vibrancy of the neighborhood, preserve the community’s historic character, and enhance its beauty and cleanliness. DCCA serves as a leading voice for Dupont Circle residents on a host of important civic and regulatory issues. We are at a critical juncture in our history and are looking to expand the depth and reach of the organization.

Duties include: Strategic communications with DCCA members and the wider public, including writing and preparing a biweekly newsletter, periodic press releases, postings on FB/X and/or IG, including gathering of content and photos from members and residents to use in communications, developing proposals for the Board on future social events and fundraising, maintaining communications with members including sending out periodic meeting reminder notices, maintaining DCCA’s current website, maintaining and improving DCCA’s online record keeping systems and membership lists and developing suggestions for improving the annual membership renewal process. The Coordinator will attend monthly in-person membership meetings, support the Board President in carrying out his/her duties and work closely with the Communications Committee.

The position requires a commitment of 30 hours per month for a monthly flat remuneration of $1,200. On occasion, additional hours may be approved to support specific projects.

The selected individual will have strong organizational and communication skills, an orientation to details, and the ability to be proactive and flexible. Experience in community outreach and fundraising is a plus. Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate strong communications skills and comfort managing Google suite (Gmail, Gmail admin, Google drive, calendar invites, etc.), Constant Contact, Wild Apricot, Zoom and Excel. Social media (Facebook, Instagram) experience and familiarity with website maintenance is required. Residence in or familiarity with the Dupont Circle neighborhood is preferred.
