  • Ross Elementary School, 1730 R Street, NW
The Logan Circle, Dupont Circle, and Foggy Bottom Ward 2 Education Network invites you to attend a community education forum on Saturday, January 11 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at Ross Elementary School, 1730 R Street, N.W.  (The DC Education Festival (http://www.dcedufest.org/) is on the same day, so spend your morning with us before you head to the Convention Center!)

D.C. adopted Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) the week ending December 20, joining eight states (including Maryland).  This meeting will feature Maya Garcia from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE).  Join us for information about and demonstrations of the NGSS, which emphasize hand-on learning of science and engineering.  The focus of these standards is on big concepts that connect classroom learning to how science and engineering affect our communities and our world.

There will be light snacks.  Babysitters will be on hand to care for kids. RSVP to W2EdNetwork@gmail.com

Founded in 1922 in a townhouse at 1767 P Street, to promote and protect the interests of the residents, the Dupont Circle Citizens Association (DCCA) is the premier civic and residential organization in the Dupont Circle area.

DCCA brings neighbors, including residents, businesses and non-profit organizations, together to improve the quality of life in an active and diverse urban neighborhood. It holds membership meetings 9 times each year, which are open to the public, runs the Dupont Circle House Tour, resolves neighborhood issues through its committees, donates to local causes, and incubates innovative projects.
