JICC, Embassy of Japan
1150 18th St., NW, Suite 100

Experience the beauty and challenge of origami at JICC’s Discover Origami presentation and workshop with guest OrigamiUSA folders Sy Chen, Jim Weir, and Giang Dinh!

Offered as part of the JICC’s Fall 2015 exhibition, World Origami Days, a brief presentation will introduce non-traditional, contemporary styles of origami, exploring topics from technique to artistic challenges. There will be a short question and answer session following the lecture.

Afterwards, guests of all ages are invited to try their hands at the art of paperfolding through an origami workshop led by experienced OrigamiUSA folders. There will also be a chance to view the new origami exhibition, presented in cooperation with OrigamiUSA and the Embassy of Australia, featuring impressive and creative works by Ms. Hiromi Ashlin, guest folders, and other members of the OrigamiUSA community.
